High five for Quinta do Lago with new global golf accolade

Quinta do Lago has won fresh acclaim as one of the world’s leading luxury golf and lifestyle destinations after being honoured by Golf Digest magazine – the world’s biggest golf title – for the fifth successive year.
The exclusive resort further strengthened its reputation as Portugal’s top sports, leisure and family venue after being selected by the magazine as a recipient for its coveted ‘2020 Editors’ Choice Award for the Best Resorts in Continental Europe’.
The awards were launched by Golf Digest in 2016 to highlight ‘the best things in golf’ to its readers, with the emphasis on lifestyle properties, products and services.
The 2020 list of winners features a who’s who of the elite names in the global golf industry and was compiled following close consultation with a combination of the magazine’s international affiliate titles and around 1,200 golf-course raters.

- Paul McGinley Academy – Quinta do Lago is home to the only Paul McGinley Academy in the world, founded in October 2011 by Europe’s 2014 Ryder Cup captain. - TaylorMade Performance Center – Quinta do Lago’s TaylorMade Performance Centre is the only facility of its kind in Portugal and is located on the resort’s expansive driving range. Opened in May 2013, the centre is operated by trained TaylorMade technicians, offering golfers a custom-fitting experience testing hundreds of club and iron options, ensuring the best combination for every player’s swing. It also has a fully equipped Tour standard workshop and utilises FlightScope X2 radar technology to measure the entire flight of the ball from impact to landing whilst displaying its 3D trajectory in real time.
