Fairways and FunDays adds Golfing Expertise and Strengthens West Coast Credentials!

Fairways and FunDays, the leading Irish golf tour operator, today announced that it has added a number of golf industry professionals to its team. Padraig McGrath and Sinead Sexton both Golf Professionals from County Clare on the West Coast of Ireland along with Mike Carroll, owner of @Fit_For_Golf, based on the US west coast in Orange County, California have been unveiled as the latest members of the company’s team.
Welcoming the new team members, Peter Lawrie, former Tour Professional and Director of Golf at the Company said:
“First and foremost, Fairways and FunDays is about bringing high quality, memorable golf experiences to our international clients. So, bringing Padraig, Sinéad and Mike onto the team, given their strong and growing credentials in the game, will greatly assist us in improving our product, tailoring it to specific customer groups and broadening our market coverage”
Fairways and FunDays Commercial Director Joe O’Carroll added:
“Although 2020 has been extremely difficult for the global tourism industry, we are confident that there is now pent up demand for golfing travel in our main markets and this will be released in the latter part of the year and throughout 2021. It is really encouraging to hear of increased golf club membership levels, increased participation among ladies and children, and overall increased positivity about the game’s future.”
Continuing, he stated:
“we are thrilled to have been able to attract such talent onto our team. The new team members strengths speak for themselves but what is most important to us is that they are all great people, are all passionate about the business, the game and about Ireland, and all strongly fit with the culture at our company.”
The company reported that it, working with its hotel and golf club partners, has been able to reschedule most of its March – September 2020 bookings and its customer loyalty has been fantastic. O’Carroll thanked all customers and partners for their patience, understanding and flexibility during the past several months and stated that Fairways and Fundays is looking forward to getting everybody back on the fairways in Ireland as soon as possible.

About Padraig McGrath
Padraig joins the company as a Golf Industry Executive and has played golf at all levels, both as an amateur and now as a PGA Golf Professional. He loves helping golfers to improve their game as much as he enjoys playing the game. Padraig is passionate about golf and passionate about Ireland and recognises the potential that Ireland has to become the global leader in terms of golf tourism. He is looking forward to meeting new people and helping golfers out when they book with Fairways and FunDays.
About Sinead Sexton
Sinead, joining the company as Regional Executive and Ladies Tour Co-ordinator, has played International level golf with Ireland at Girls and Ladies level. She completed a degree in Business & Management at NUI Maynooth while on the Padraig Harrington Golf Scholarship Programme and a Masters in Sport Management at the University of Stirling in Scotland while on the International Sport Scholarship Programme. Over the summer months Sinead has caddied at Lahinch Golf Club for 10 years and she has worked at Trump Doonbeg also. In recent years Sinead has spent winters at Boca Raton, Florida working at Woodfield Country Club in Golf Operations.
She recently transitioned from Amateur to Professional golf and looks forward to exploring the teaching side of the game and sharing my knowledge with our customers – especially the shots required for the Irish wind!
She is a very proud Honorary Life Member of both Lahinch and Spanish Point Golf Clubs – both links courses on the west coast of Ireland.
About Mike Carroll
Mike Carroll is a strength and conditioning coach specialising in the physical training of golfers. Originally from Cork, Mike has been based in Orange County California since 2016. He provides practical golf fitness tips through his various social media channels under the name @fit_for_golf.
Through the creation of the Fit For Golf App he has been able to help over 2,000 golfers improve their golf and fitness. He also trains a number of players on the PGA and European Tour. Mike is an avid golfer himself and appreciates the struggles of the everyday player!
