Laguna Classic Open for Single Venue Entries

Laguna Classic Open for Single Venue Entries

18 August 2015

Laguna Phuket Golf Club, host venue of the first leg of the Laguna Golf Classic, has announced single-venue packages for amateur golfers to play in next month’s inaugural tournament.

From USD250 (THB8750) without accommodation – and from USD750 (THB26,250) with accommodation, transfers and other benefits – the packages give non-members and members of the club the opportunity to play in the 36-hole event on September 18 and 19 without necessarily playing in the second leg at Laguna Lang Co Golf Club, Vietnam, in November.

The Phuket tournament will feature men’s and ladies’ divisions, each with daily and 36-hole stableford winners and other prizes.

The full package – USD750/THB26,250 for non-members and USD600/THB21,000 for members – includes three nights’ accommodation at the 5-star Angsana Laguna Phuket resort, return airport transfers, two rounds of golf with caddie and shared cart, welcome party and awards dinner, a goodie bag and two Laguna Phuket GC golf shirts.

The non-accommodation package for two rounds of golf, caddie and shared cart costs USD250 (THB8750) for non-members and USD150 (THB5250) for members.

Laguna Phuket GC completed a full course revamp early this year and was re-opened to widespread acclaim in January. Billed as offering a “new look, new experience”, its redevelopment under the direction of golf course architect, Paul Jansen, came 22 years after the course was first opened.

After attending the launch event, European Tour and Asian Tour player, Shiv Kapur, described it as “an exceptional golf course that maintains traditions of the game. You walk off with a smile on your face”, he said.

The second leg of the Laguna Classic will be played at Laguna Phuket’s sister course, Laguna Lang Co in Central Vietnam from November 12-14. This tournament will feature brand ambassador for the Banyan Tree-owned and operated resort, six-times Majors winner, Sir Nick Faldo, who designed the course and opened it in March 2013.

Packages to play both tournament venues are available from USD1200 for members and USD1500 for non-members, including golf with caddie and shared cart, on-site accommodation at Angsana hotels, transfers, welcome party and presentation dinners at both venues.

The overall winner will receive hotel, golf and spa entitlements with the Banyan Tree Group valued at more than USD15,000.
